How to stay positive on Blahy days

Firstly written for the main blog by LuciStG

Winter is coming! You know what that means -- blah-y days and blah-y moods.

Here is how I stay positive in outlook when the weather gets dreary.

What I don't do:

  • I won't stay around on social media where I know people tend to be negative.
  • I won't eat anything cold or drink cold drinks.
  • I won't watch anything on TV or Videos that make me feel worried or anxious like horror movies. I don't like those anyway.
  • I won't eat allot of veggies unless it has dip included. Veggies tend to make digestive upsets and that can bring on the blahs.
  • I won't go outside or look outside allot.

What I will attempt to try to do:

  • Drink or Eat warm foods, comfy foods because it really makes you feel warm inside.
  • Watch TV in a constructive, learning way, the weather channel, or even weathernation, or a discovery channel or something that I have an 80% interest in.
  • Listen to upbeat music, or a nature app or a meditative app or jazz or r&b or ambient upbeat music.
  • Turn on my bokeh lights, or christmas lights or my star lamp, any kind of warm gold glowing light warms you up and helps us fight the sads.
  • Take a warm shower or warm bath and use bath salts from Dr. Teal's or Village Naturals' company.
  • Wear warm clothing with a hood or pj's and have a comfy big blanket for your bed.
  • Line the bed with some large pillows so you want to stretch out and sleep.
  • Mist your linen with good smelling sleep promoting sprays like green tea or tea tree oil or lavender/jasmine or orange.
  • Eat salads, even though they are cool, but with a piece of fruit, with some almonds/nuts and an unopened dressing at room temp.
  • Play a video game you know well that you find comfort in.
  • Sweep or clean the room or your home. Put on some oil or wax in the burner and help the home feel cozy.
  • Buy some plants that help brighten your moods and your home.
  • If you enjoy painting or working with clay give it a go.
  • Go out for a brisk walk, spend time in nature. Take photos. Go live on Facebook.
